History

Windmill Hill Farm is owned and operated by Don and Carol Ragan located between Peck and Croswell, Michigan. It sits on about 260 acres of scenic farm land 15 miles west of Lake Huron in the thumb of Michigan. Windmill Hill Farm produces the finest honey available. It is operated for the enjoyment of its owners and the production of the most natural honey possible.

In 2002 we decided to raise bees. In truth, Carol decided to raise bees and it quickly became 'our' project.

There is in the Ragan family a long tradition of beekeeping. My great grandfather Isaac Shumard maintained an apiary on Casey's Cay outside of Sarasota Florida. Admittedly, bee keeping skipped a few generations but has proudly resumed on Windmill Hill Farm!
